June 13, 2011 - A dynamic Yorkshire based specialised welding company – involved in major projects such as the refit of the Treasury and the tallest building in Europe – is celebrating its tenth anniversary of working with Bibby Consulting & Support to provide essential advice and back up on employment law and health and safety.
Operating since 1997 and based in Ripon, Cleary Welding has 13 highly skilled employees and first signed up with Bibby in May 2001. The company renews its contract every three years and its latest renewal was in 2010, which means Cleary Welding will be with Bibby for at least another two years.
Regarding Bibby's legal services as an insurance policy that he's glad he rarely needs to use, Managing Director Graham Cleary says that the company's focus is to do a top quality job with highly skilled frontline specialists. That's why Cleary Welding – working largely for the Severfield-Rowen Group – has won substantial percentages of prestigious contracts at Arsenal Football Club's Emirates stadium, the Treasury, the new stand at Ascot racecourse, Heron Tower (currently the tallest building in London), and the Shard on the Thames which will become Europe's tallest building.
Because Cleary is a small family business based around skilled employees, the company doesn't have in-house administration and human resources staff. So it is essential that external help is available and this is delivered in the form of two consultants from Bibby Consulting & Support – Kevin Smith for employment law and John Fox for health and safety.
Says Graham Cleary: "We've got excellent back up. Kevin always gives me great advice and between us we've got everything covered. I know if I ever had a problem I would just ring him directly. And I would regard John as one of us. He understands what we do for a living and when I'm talking to him I know I'm talking to someone who has real experience. Two terrific guys."
Cleary adds: "I regard Bibby as a life raft and I will come to them if I have a problem, which thankfully is very rarely. But I know I've got the service and as long as I've got it I feel comfortable. Whenever I've needed Bibby's support I've got it immediately, which is precisely what I want."
Kevin Smith comments: "Typically, owner managers with a construction background are tradesmen who don’t have spare resource to manage the processes that have to be in place nowadays.
