May 09, 2011 - It's safe to say there isn't a woodburning stove like it in the UK. The new eVolution 8 from Broseley Fires of Shrewsbury has been designed to work with the Safety Cold Water System (SCWS) that has been pioneered by the company.
This patent-pending technology enables Broseley’s highly efficient solid fuel stoves to be fitted onto new or existing sealed central heating systems, including combi boilers, without the need for additional unsightly pipework or controls to vent the boiler.
Incorporating a boiler to generate hot water for central heating, the eVolution 8 can also be plumbed conventionally to an open system if required. And it can easily link up with other boilers or heat sources such as solar panels or ground source heat pumps through connection via a thermal store or low loss header.
The new boiler stove was developed by Broseley to meet the growing demand for highly insulated, air-sealed housing and sealed heating systems. And like all stoves in the company's eVolution range, the eVolution 8 combines eco friendly features with a contemporary design and the latest in stove technology.
The eVolution 8 is a free standing stove which is designed to maximise convection heat output from all working surfaces. The huge 400mm x300mm glass panel has a door designed for a crisp, quality closure and is kept clear with a pre-heated air wash offering high visibility of the flames. The slimline design is finished in grey painted steel and has a nominal heat output of 11kw, 8kw to water and 3kw to room, and is one of the most efficient in the industry operating at 83 per cent efficiency.
Says Product Development Engineer Tristan Johnston: "The modern home demands a good-looking, highly functional heat source that combines contemporary design and solid construction with the very latest technology and maximum efficiency. The eVolution 8 fits the bill perfectly and was developed with this growing market in mind. It gives just the right amount of heat into the room while meeting the hot water/heating demands as a secondary source of heat."
All installers of the SCWS have to be trained by Broseley Fires on the system and how to install its additional safety features. Broseley provides this training free of charge to affiliated installers. Also, the eVolution 8 is subject to reduced VAT of 5% to end users as part of a government incentive scheme.
