MARTIAL ARTS ACE LAUNCHES WORLD RECORD BID

March 11, 2011 - A Buckinghamshire-based martial arts expert is planning to raise thousands of pounds for a local hospice whilst earning a place in the Guinness Book of Records.Ebe Ghansah hopes to set a new world record for the longest continuous Brazilian Jujitsu/ Mixed Martial Arts class at his new studio at the prestigious Interchange Business Centre in Newport Pagnell.

For the past 28 years, Ebe - who was a Great Britain Olympic Team member in 1988 for Taekwondo - has taught a wide range of martial arts and earlier this year, his M1J14 Academy became one of the first businesses to move into the new, state-of-the-art business development in Howard Way.

He will be supported in his record attempt by Bucks-Biz, the company behind Interchange Business Centre, and he also hopes to involve other members of the community in his feat of endurance. To raise the money for the Keech Hospice, Ebe is now appealing for sponsorship from both local individuals and businesses.

Ebe explained: “We are really proud of our new facilities at Interchange Business Centre and what better way to celebrate the move than by setting a new world record and at the same time helping a very worthy cause.

“The record for the longest lesson currently stands at just over 29 hours, but with the help of members of the public and my students I hope to better this achievement with a gruelling training session starting on Sunday, May 8.

Commented Dominic Muscat, a Director at Bucks-Biz: “We are really proud to be associated with Ebe’s record attempt as his efforts reflect our own commitment to help businesses build up their business endurance in these difficult times.

“We are also pleased that Ebe has found an ideal home for his academy at Interchange Business Centre, a development that offers first-class facilities for a wide range of businesses of all different types.”

In addition to sponsoring the record attempt Buck-Biz will also be providing refreshments during the record attempt whilst opening up the former food factory for a family fun day.

Whilst Ebe is in training to become a record breaker, anyone who would like to sponsor him should telephone 07743 720034 or email .
