BRIGGS LAUNCH NEW CAT POWER PALLET TRUCKS TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY AND CUT COSTS

December 01, 2008 - Briggs Equipment, the UK’s national Cat® Lift Truck distributor, has launched two new high-spec stand-on and sit-on Cat power pallet trucks. They provide the most ergonomic, productive and cost-effective materials handling solutions, making light work of even the heaviest handling duties.

The top-of-the-range machines have powerful maneuverability in the warehouse whilst also saving energy usage, optimizing up-time and maximising operator comfort and safety. Built for demanding warehouse applications such as movement of pallets weighing up to two tonnes, the trucks both feature a state-of-the-art, 360° electronic steering system that ensures excellent maneuverability with minimum effort and greater stability when negotiating a bend or corner, with or without a load.

Both speed and acceleration are fully definable as part of a range of programmable functions. The two trucks also provide a cost-efficient solution with their economical energy usage and regenerative braking (used to feed power back into the battery during braking operations).

In keeping with the Cat Lift Truck range, supplied by Briggs, easy servicing and maintenance for optimised up-time is paramount. The trucks use AC power which runs for longer between services and is simpler servicing than DC units. Built-in diagnostics and quick-access panels help reduce downtime to a minimum whenever servicing is required. Both trucks are supplied with Briggs’ quality standard maintenance programme of a local engineer guarantee, ease of gaining spare parts and flexibility within the rental fleet.

Both trucks can be tailored by Briggs to best fit customer requirements to save them money. Options include a variety of fork dimensions, reversed steering, a picking list or data terminal bracket, and a key switch system that allows individual driver accountability and an instant management tool. The NPS20N is also available in a 2.5 tonne version.

The NPR20N and NPS20N trucks perfectly compliment the Cat Lift Trucks wide range of top quality materials handling solutions already offered by via an extensive worldwide network of dealers. The range includes electric, LPG and diesel powered counterbalanced trucks and an unrivalled range of warehouse handling solutions including pallet trucks, stacker trucks, low and high level order pickers, reach trucks and turret trucks.

“This product will compliment our growing flexible options for customers and help to increase the productivity and profitability in running a typical warehouse,” says Tony Rooney, sales and marketing director at Briggs Equipment. Through our technological innovations we have found new ways to reduce energy costs, improve comfort and safety and optimise up-time and we are keen to pass these savings on to our customers.”
